Mid week after Labor Day. Site d92. Quiet. Flush restrooms are clean. Water spigots close. Power in site. Close to 550 for easy stop. However sites are small and close together. Somewhat level paved driveway. But site is terraced into the hill. 1 bar lte for T mobile If you were here for the lake it would rate higher.

Addendum: very annoying meat eating bees invaded while cooking dinner. Had to walk around to avoid bee entering mouth while eating. And putting away washed dishes was a challenge to keep none from entering storage bag. Otherwise the ospreys were awesome. In site B19 mid week just after Labor Day. It is quiet. Many if not most sites in B loop are reserved for tonight and following nights. Osprey, raven, great blue heron and other birds near the lake. Lake is down about 10 feet from high water mark. No swimming, just fishing and paddle craft. Sites are fairly level and paved. Distance between sites is about 100 feet in fairly dense pine forest. Outhouses are clean. Drinking water spigots. About mid 80 degree temperature. Very nice compared to the 110 deg F we had driving here from California. Has boat launch ramp, fishing dock, amphitheater. Just a couple of miles from I40.

This is an RV only camp. All units need to be self contained. They lock entrance gate and restrooms around sunset. Sites are about 25 feet wide, mostly level. But no separation between sites. Road noise is high. A pedestrian tunnel under the road leads to San Diego bay and an aquatic center that rents kayaks and paddle boards. Also nice hiking trails overlooking the bay and navy ships. If you ant a beach camp and don’t mind road noise or very close neighbors, this may be just for you.

Green, grassy campground with well separated spaces. Most pull thru and level. All surrounded by grass for nice tent camping. Surf sound is continuous. Masks other sounds except noisy generator in next site. Nice restrooms

Arch rock campground is further up the road from Atlanta campground. It used to be a first come first serve campground, but just this month changed to a reservation system. If a site is not reserved and it is after 3pm, you can pay the iron ranger $10 for the site. Arch rock sites are more scenic than the other campground, but also more primitive with just vault toilet and water spigots distributed throughout the camp. No electricity. Desert big horn sheep do frequent the area. It can be very hot temperature. Sites are only modestly separated with little screening. Though the sites further up the loop are more dispersed. Each site has sun shade, table, fire ring, and 12’x12’ tent pads. No T-Mobile.

Many sites along dirt road leaving UT12 at mile post 70. Very full mid week late September. Quiet. At 2 miles in, found spot above cliff providing panoramic views to the north and east. Partially shaded be hill to the west. Unfortunately very close to road and dust. Other spots closer to the highway are further from the dirt road, but were occupied. No problem in AWD van.

We still like this camp very much. But ranger says during summer and especially on weekends, this place is very, very full. So much they close off people coming. Beware if you like quiet camping after fall is best. Boating closes October 1 for bird migration. Geese winter here on frozen lake.

Wow. After miles of dry rocky gulches. Even the approach to the park is fairly dry looking. Then you arrive at the well wooded, green campground with green lawns. Rv spots are level. Tents on nice green grass. Flush restrooms with showers and laundry. Sites are well separated. Swim beach. Birding area.
Not completely full, but mostly so mid week September. 5G T-Mobile.

Very close to US40, making it a great place to stop for the night while traveling. Sites are fairly close with little screening. Continuous Highway noise. Sun shelters. It is along the river which is nice. River access.

Nicely separated sites. Superb view of Hawn’s peak. Depending upon chosen site, good views of lake or Hawn’s park. Site 42 just glimpses of lake. Campground was nearly empty mid week late September. Nice. Quiet. Level spots large tent pads. Heated flush restrooms and showers. Very limited T-Mobile. Very good star watching.

Neat Boyd lake. Sites are about 100 yards from lake. Nice trail along lake. Sites are level. No tent pads, but likely could set up on gravel or lawn in the site. Only modest site separation with little screening between sites. Some shade trees. Noise level from the city hum is about 45 db, peaking at 50-60 when trains or airplanes go by. Swim beach, playgrounds, close to stores for supplies. Only about half full on a Sunday night in September.

Not a spectacular campground, but it is in the RMNP and that makes it special. Sites are only modestly separated. Young pines are starting to provide separation between sites. A few more years and this will be very nice. Flat campground. Near US34 so during day there is road noise. All night we heard elk bugling. Nice. Restroom is rustic and functional with dish washing sink. All sites have tent pads. Overall a good place to start or end a trip to the park.

We were going to give this a 3 star review based on our first night here in D loop. No water, sites close together and a long walk to the vault toilets, plus the site was not level. Our second night was in E loop. Sites are over 100 feet apart, level, flush heads, near free showers, and water available plus dish washing area, but no tent pads. Loops are either RV or tent. Tent loops also have sites too close for our taste, about 37 feet apart. Though if you choose carefully, a few sites are more remote. Some of the tent loops let you park adjacent to your site (loops H and I). Others you park in a common area and walk to your site. Volunteer staff very friendly. In season camp programs. Much jet noise from airliners leaving Denver. Some road noise also, but very quiet at night. Your experience will vary with your chosen loop and site. Overall nice, much more so in E loop and B loop looks similar. For tenting, I’d suggest H or I loop. Good T-Mobile.

High elevation campground. Sites well spread out. Gravel tent area. Many pull through RV sites. Separate tent area walk in also. Vault toilets. Clean, quiet camp. Short walk to Grouse peak. Aspens and pines. Stayed in sites 92 and 124. 5g T-Mobile.

Nicely wooded. 8400 feet elevation. Sites well separated for RV park. Pet friendly. Many semi permanent residents. Many short term campers. Tent spots also look nice. Very friendly campers. Laundry, showers, restroom. All very clean. Good 5G T-Mobile.

We were the only campers on the west side campground. There were several campers on the east side. No water and just pit toilets on west side. Don’t know about east side. Large spots. Most have a fairly noticeable slope. Many deer and chipmunks. Nice view of lake. Nicely secluded. 5G good cell on T-Mobile. Long gravel road to west side campground.

Nice camp. Sites are well separated. Quiet, but some road noise. Can hear cars passing, but very quiet after dark. Large 13x13 foot tent pads. Concrete table Gravel in campsites no dust or mud. Forest service directions say road is steep and twisty. It is, but not more than most mountain roads. Just one 15mph hairpin turn. When coming from Prescott. Much curvier from Jerome. Friendly campers.

Nice family oriented campground. Many tents, trailers, few rv’s. Spots are fairly far apart 50-70 feet. Just fire ring, table, and parking spot. Vault toilets. Few trees. In mid June mostly dry grass with little shade, but fine tent pitching area. Most spots are mostly level for rv parking. Few bugs. Hawks,crows, towhee, quail. Should be good star gazing. Quiet. No road noise. Somewhat windy.
