Accessible via forest roads, Placer Campground sits within Sierra National Forest at an elevation that accommodates RVs up to 30 feet in length. The US Forest Service manages this established campground, which provides standard amenities including restrooms, picnic tables, and designated fire rings for evening campfires.
Pet owners can bring their dogs to this forest setting, and the campground allows leashed pets throughout the area. Several other Forest Service campgrounds operate nearby, including Sweetwater less than a mile southeast and Soda Springs about 1.6 miles west, giving campers options if sites fill up. The location works well as a base for exploring pet-friendly camping near Sierra National Forest during peak season when reservations become essential.
