Rock Creek (sierra Natl Fores)

Within Sierra National Forest, Rock Creek operates as a drive-in campground accommodating RVs up to 30 feet. The US Forest Service manages this established site from May 16 through September 13, providing drinking water, restrooms, picnic tables, and trash service alongside standard amenities like campfire rings.

Recent wildfire damage significantly altered the landscape. The 2020 Creek fire left hazard trees and structural damage throughout the area, with one visitor noting the campground's uncertain reopening status. Access involves rough roads leading to the forested terrain near both creek and lake features. Fishing and swimming opportunities exist for those willing to navigate post-fire conditions, though campers should verify current accessibility and safety status before arrival.

Damaged by Creek Fire

Some trees survived in the creek but the 2020 Creek fire decimated the area. There are hazard trees and other damage that needs repair. I do not expect this campground to open in 2022.
