Sequoia National Forest's Hidden Falls campground requires more effort to reach than most. The access road is pot-hole riddled and slow going, and vandalism has led to a road closure that turns the final stretch into a two-mile hike down a steep grade and two miles back out. Cell service is unavailable along the approach for miles. The site does provide drinking water and toilets, and campers willing to make the trek will find tent sites near Sequoia National Forest in the surrounding area if this one proves too demanding. Nearby alternatives include Shake Camp - State Forest to the southwest. This campground makes the most sense for physically fit campers comfortable with a sustained uphill return on an unmaintained road.
