A blast as a kid

We went many years as kids and we were all surfers from Newport Beach wanting to do extreme things. One day I decided to go up the pump station, over the barb wire to the top of the I Beam. Crazy my dad took this picture. I was 15 years old and crazy!

Along the river

Great site among old growth trees above the river. Can’t hear the people in the tent next to you over the rushing water. Great spot to camp, nothing but hiking and swimming holes for miles. The water was not turned on when we went in July and it was HOT so we had to drive a half hour back out to get more jugs of water while we were there. The pit toilets were nasty and the mosquitos and gnats were next level awful. We had to stay in our tents until after dusk each night. No fires allowed which is to be expected but still a bummer. Bear boxes available but didn’t hear or see any animals while we were there. Might go back for the swimming hole if nothing else.

Wishon Campground Not What I Expected

Stayed for 3 nights with family. Our site had no shade, sloped site which made it hard to set up our tint. Our tint barely fit. Restrooms were dirty. No views, no trails. Only good thing is the river fairly close by with some swimming holes to enjoy. I will not be returning.

Rocken good time

Absolutely loved it. Perfect camping trip and place with coworkers and family. Camp host was very friendly and helpful. Sites where clean. Just need a little maintenance on the camp road at spots and the nature trail needs trimming with the over growth. Multiple swimming holes. So sad to see on the way up how much trash people left at the swimming hole trail head. Amazing get away & would recommend this place to all.

Nice

Large trees, bear lockers, large rocks, vault toilets and potable water on site. You can hear the river from the camp ground and even when it's full, there is enough space to feel like you have privacy.

Loved it here!

About an hour away from the sequoia national park and a great option for cheap camping! There are several bathrooms, garbage and recycling bins, and a stream with an flat swim/ wading area! (Water is cold but clean for taking a camp shower). Will definitely be staying here again!

Under the Sequoia

This is a primitive campground with several site locations. It was a very long, winding and narrow road to get there. There is a river near the entrance and it is covered in giant sequoia trees throughout. The park offers a picnic table, bear box, and a fire pit at each campsite. They have also made benches out of fallen trees which was really neat. There's a porta house nearby, fairly clean but I've seen nicer. There is no water or hookups. Perfect for needing a simple place to sleep while visiting Sequoia National Park.
