Moses Gulch - State Forest

Accessible via forest roads, Moses Gulch operates as an established campground within Mountain Home Demonstration State Forest under California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection management. The facility provides drinking water, restrooms, picnic tables, and allows campfires, pets, and alcohol consumption.

Road conditions present challenges for some vehicles, with one camper reporting significant potholes and rough surfaces that forced an early turnaround after three miles. The access route requires patience and potentially higher-clearance vehicles. Shake Camp - State Forest sits less than a mile west for those seeking alternative forest camping. Plan for slower travel times when navigating the approach roads.

Tough road

I never made it to review the campground but know that the road is slow going and full of potholes. I turned around after three miles because my old truck was shaking apart.
