Fishing and lakeside access draw campers to Hammerhorn Lake Campground, a Forest Service site set within Mendocino National Forest at roughly 4,000 feet in elevation. The campground runs from May through December and provides drinking water, flush or vault toilets, picnic tables, and trash service. Campfires are permitted, and pets are welcome. RVs are limited to 25 feet. Nearby Forest Service roads connect to Little Doe Campground and other sites in the same corridor, making this a workable base for exploring the surrounding national forest terrain.
Description
Five-acre lake for trout fishing in a mixed conifer setting.
