Beautiful views

We stayed here twice on our hwy 395 road trip from OR to Joshua Tree—once on the way down and because we loved it so much, we stayed 3 nights on the way back. We have a 17’ camper van and the sites were perfect. Most sites have a tree so there is some shade, but otherwise it’s wide open. The sites are far western end were really nice. Not too crowded or noisy. We will stay here again.

Looking at Glory

This campground looks right up at the glorious South Sierra in the scenic Owens Valley, thus the five star rating. The sites are nicely spaced and the place is kind of funky overall. Pretty good Verizon cell signal. Choose your site carefully. Some have water dripping on trees and there were many wasps around them (16,18). Site 12 is primo. The campers at the sites near the entrance were noisy but it was much quieter on the east end. Incredible sunrise lighting up the Sierra.

Beautiful view & great set-up

The campground is located fairly conveniently off the highway, though far enough away that you don't hear traffic. Self check-in was easy arriving late. $5 cash or check. There are plenty of spots- each is numbered and had their own picnic bench and fire pit. There are restrooms too. Not really any shade so I would not recommend for summer months. Overall a very convient and nice camping spot - the mountains really are stunning to wake up to.

Stop after bishop fishing trip

Sites were walk up reservation. With pulp in sites. Had fire pit and tables with clean bathrooms and a camp host. Only 5ish dollars for a site so for the price one of the best! Little protection from the sun though but besides that 👍🏼

Winter / Late Check In

We visited in February. We arrived at the campground after dark, around 7pm. There were plenty of permits available to "self sign in" and the cost was 5 dollars a night. Beautiful campground with mountains on both sides, creek runs through at entrance. multiple bathrooms. 2 pull through sites for trailers, and 1 ada accessible. At each site there is a fire pit and table. Little trail to the side of the campground (.5 mile).
