Nice surprise

Nice simple county run campground with views of the Eastern Sierra. This campsite is a mile off 395 at the base of Onion Valley Road right out of town. Ideally located for a quick stop or to drive up to the trail head or cycle the climb up. Has fire pits, picnic tables and water. There is a small creek running through the campsite and the spots on the far side have better views of the mountains. The sites a fairly close together. $14.

We stopped in really late set up camp and crashed with the kids and woke up to a beautiful sunrise to Mount Whitney. Little creek runs through the site with big trees surrounding. Nice spot!! Kid and pet friendly!
