6ish mostly uphil trek to the twin lakes campsite. Campsite sites are very nice with bear boxes and a locker toilet. Whole area is at about 9,000 ft elevation so it gets cold and the views are unreal

Nice 6.5ish hike out to a beautiful subalpine lake. Campsite are scattered around the edge of pear lake with granite mountains surrounding the area. Trout in the lake also

Easy 3-4 mile hike to beautiful weaver lake. Camp sites are spread out through out the side of the lake. Even spots with no amenities but an awesome lake.

Backpacking trip by myself nice big sur like nature majority of the hike is next to a small creek /river. Sites are hard to find but flat. No amenities so make sure to come prepared

Have camped here many times as a kid during the summer when the Santa Barbara county fair goes on. Not as much a campsite as it is an open field with some hook ups.

One of the nicest backpacking campgrounds. Nice bathrooms and right next to a clean blue river perfect for swimming in! Surrounded by granite rocks in one of the most wonderful place Yosemite

Nice place and clean place, but not really a campground as it much as it’s an rv park with cabins. Not much nature. Use to go years ago when they had tent camping. Miss those days. Some good hikes down to the river bed and bike/ running trails

Right next to some beautiful dunes. Rv / pull in sites. Have tables restrooms and fire pit relatively close to Oceano/ piano

Really nice place to backpack the lake is so nice and private. You’ll meet a lot of people hiking the pct or jmt our here. The lower vermillion camp has a full store with a bar and tv’s. Also a fair leaves from out to here

Really nice get away. Less crowded than sequoia NP. Spent the day at the lake nice fishing went in the summer and it was really warm the whole time. Sites were clean and drive in. Tables, fire pit and bear canisters on site

This was my first backpacking trip ever with my little brother. Was somewhere around 18 miles there and back from nira camp. The site was flat and clear but that was back in 2013. Would love to go back and check it out now. The school house is cool it’s a building in the middle of nowhere that just pops up

Walked passed it on the way to Estrella camp. Really nice sites with tables and right next to the river. Looked like a good spot to take kids for a swim 🏊‍♀️ only about 2ish miles out so would be an easy first trip for people (can get crowded)

Took some buddies on their first backpacking trip out here probably about 3ish miles there. You pass two waterfalls. The second one is really nice and a great place for a dip. Sites are hard to find but once you get there they are flat and nice next to creek/ river

Hiked out 18 miles there and back sites are completely gone from fire and overgrown. Poison oak all over. But if you’re looking for a good pointless workout this is for you (2018)

If you can make it out there you’ll for sure be the only ones in this solitude. Long trek. Sites are just a few downed logs as chairs and fire pit. Stream relatively close for drinking water. Beware of poison oak like all of big sur

Excellent views of the coast. Difficult road out but worth it. 4x4, high clearance and or AWD recommended. These sites have nothing and there are no amenities close so be prepared and bring plenty of water and supplies. No fires 🔥 and good about of bugs so bring spray

One of the best BLM spots around . There are no amenities so you have to be 100% self contained. Bring your own everything. Always will stop here when visiting the 395. Hope it stays pristine

Close proximity to glass beach and fort brag. Stayed here for one night had some mosquitos but nothing spray couldn’t stop. Was a bit rainy and overcast the whole night but still a really enjoyable trip. Bathrooms were clean

Nice sites with tables and fire pits. We were able to get a spot same day so some parts of the year it’s pretty mellow out there next time would go with the primitive sites. Close walk to beach and short drove to elephant seals. Right next to Hearst castle if visiting

Nice and quiet campsites at over 8,000 ft elevation. Worth the drive up some windy roads to wake up close to the ancient bristle cone forest.
