Each site includes a concrete picnic table, a bear-resistant food storage container, and access to a vault toilet that reviewers have found clean. The surrounding forest shows evidence of a recent fire, which gives the landscape an open, somewhat stark character. A small creek runs nearby, audible from camp. Wildlife activity in the area includes bears and mountain lions, so food storage is not just a courtesy but a necessity.
Campsites sit relatively close together, though the campground can see very low occupancy on some visits. Beck W. noted the site in summer: "we were the only ones there," with the creek and wind through burned trees as the main sounds. Alcohol is permitted, pets are welcome, and cell service is available. Nearby, Laufman Campground and Black Mountain Lookout offer additional options in the same general corridor for campers routing through the area.

This nine unit campground is located approximately eight miles northwest of Frenchman Lake. This is a quiet campground situated along a small creek. Vault toilets, tables, fire rings and food lockers are provided. There is no water or garbage service. Pack out all trash.
