Crocker Family Campground

Within Plumas National Forest, Crocker Family Campground provides a rustic camping experience managed by the US Forest Service. The campground accommodates RVs up to 32 feet, though access requires careful consideration of ground clearance requirements.

One reviewer notes that some spots can handle larger trailers, but recommends a minimum of 10 inches of ground clearance due to rocky sections and large tree roots crossing the road. The campground sits in an area that escaped recent wildfire damage, maintaining tree coverage while surrounded by burned terrain. Elevation provides natural cooling, with temperatures remaining in the 80s when valley areas reach over 100 degrees. Basic amenities include toilets, picnic tables, and fire rings, with pets welcome throughout the pet-friendly sites around Plumas National Forest.

Out of the way and quiet

Some what remote rustic camping but some spots will take larger trailers with enough ground clearance. I would not try without 10” min clearance.

It was over 103 degrees in the valley but only in the 80’s when we were there.

One part of the campground road is rocky and has a lot of large tree roots in the road. This is in an area that burned but the campground didn’t so you have some tree coverage.
