Good for OHVers

We stayed here over the weekend in early December and there was only one other camper. There's enough space to spread out when it's not busy, but if all the spots are taken it would feel too close to other campers for us. Lots of people coming in for the day (and into the night) to ride dirt bikes and ATVs on the trails here. ATVs were kind of noisy, but otherwise campground is completely quiet.

Road up was pretty narrow and winding, we made it fine in our 26 ft class c (28 ft nose to tail) but there was a dip in the road that we had to go over very very slowly. Anything bigger and we would have scraped. Not sure if I'd want to make this trip again.

Good cell service. Trash bins and recycling bins by the vault toilets. Rangers came through to check on things daily

We didn't pay anything because we have an annual national parks pass (America the Beautiful). Look into the daily fees before you go. When we got to the entrance there was a sign that said you'd have to go back and buy your daily pass at a local store before entering the park. I believe fees are currently $5/day but are being raised to $15/day next year.

No fires currently allowed. Each site has a fire pit and only site #12 has a picnic table. None of the sites were level.

Overall a decent park, especially for off roading. No hiking trails - I wouldn't want to walk along the paths that have dirt bikes zipping around.

Not sure what the camping limit is here. One sign said 7 days and the other said 14 days.

What a gem

Arrived here my early Sunday afternoon and I was the only one that ended up camping for the night. There’s a total of 18 sites and some are tent accommodating and some Kennett accommodate larger rugs but none of them are pull through sites. Each site does have a fire ring and there are two clean vault toilets that were stocked as well as recycling cans and a single trashcan on the other side of the bathroom. It was extremely peaceful at night seeing how I was the only one here even with a little bit of oh HV traffic. If that’s your jam, this is supposed to be. Right next to one of the main trails and surrounded by 50+ miles of them. Had good cell service and made it up to the campground just fine but would recommend taking it extremely slow since it’s mainly one lane road and wouldn’t recommend bringing anything larger than a small size trailer/camper behind. Definitely would stay here again. You do need a park pass to stay here for free or you can purchase at a price which is five dollars digitally and they have information on how to do so on the information board at the entrance.

Beautiful!!!

Bobcat meadow was perfect and exactly what we were looking for. We camped next to huge climable rocks were you could watch the sun rise or set.

Although we like to find the free sights this place was do able the park ranger was nice and told us where we could get a parks pass to stay there or daily passes which were $5/day...we chose the year pass. And stayed for a couple weeks!!!

There were fire pits and the ranger was nice enough to provide water for us to be able to put them out without wasting our own water.

The outhouses were decent and not far...they also had trash cans and recycling bins so yeah!!!!

I would camp there again it was a comfy place to call home for a while 😻😻
