Best Dog-Friendly Camping near White Hall, AR

Tar Camp Campground provides spacious sites for camping with dogs along the Arkansas River. Located in Pine Bluff, this Corps of Engineers facility offers water and electric hookups for both RV and tent campers traveling with pets. The campground features clean, well-maintained grounds with picnic tables and fire rings at each site. Most campsites offer direct views of the Arkansas River where campers and their dogs can watch barges pass by. Bathrooms are kept exceptionally clean according to visitor reports, though supplies like toilet paper may occasionally run low. The campground operates seasonally from March through October, with full services and amenities available during this period.

Rising Star Campground, about 30 miles southeast of White Hall, offers pet-friendly sites with large, private camping areas ideal for dogs needing space to stretch. The riverfront location provides excellent opportunities for dogs that enjoy water access, though owners should keep pets leashed near the river due to occasional barge traffic and wildlife. Nearby Willow Beach offers additional pet-friendly camping options with spacious back-in driveways and covered picnic tables at select sites. Both locations require pets to remain leashed at all times and owners must clean up after their animals. Mosquitoes can be prevalent near these waterfront locations, particularly during summer months, so pet owners should pack appropriate insect repellent for themselves and pet-safe options for their dogs. Multiple waterfront parks in the region offer primitive camping sites, making the White Hall area suitable for various camping styles with dogs.

    Little Rock North KOA

Only 1 Tent Site on the property !

It was great. I have the only tent site they offer. It’s away from the RV area. The couple that runs the KOA are super friendly. There is a pool but not open for some reason. Small dog park. Camp store. Clean. And an ice cream shop! The only drawback is it’s close to the freeway and you can hear a LOT of traffic.

    Pendleton Bend

    Nice people, basic facilities

I stopped here for one night with a travel trailer and was in site B-01 for $16. The sites are spacious. For example, the water hookups are half way between the sites to be shared, and my 50ft hose just barely could reach. It is pet friendly and we had fun sitting on a dock and watching the cargo boats. There is absolutely no cell phone signal and no WiFi, so have physical directions on you. The park is only a couple miles from Arkansas Post National Memorial which was very beautiful and worth a visit.

    Downtown Riverside RV Park

    Unique RV Experience

At first entrance it appears as if you are entering a large parking lot. There is a large pavilion to picnic and pet area by the water. Each site requires a 50 amp but the office will offer one for purchase if you need a 50 to 30 amp connections. The center lot is for pull through sites the other site areas non-pull through by water and fence. The fence area is close to the bridge but could be limited with views since it is far away from the water and Class A frequent area.

    Two things I love:

    1. The unique downtown riverside views
    2. The ease of getting to this RV park even though it is downtown Little Rock.

    Lake Catherine State Park Campground

Came for Hot Springs but the park was the best part!

Stayed four nights. The slots were dispersed well and wooded. All the trees make it hard to back in. Also, my slot was on a hill, and we arrived after dark so I had to back a 30 foot trailer up a hill in the dark avoiding trees but if three 21 year old girls can do it it’s possible. The other sites weren’t as bad, it’s hit or miss really. There were three areas, A B and C. They are divided by class, one is for bigger rigs and is right on the water near the dump station. All the slots are near the lake. There are wonderful trails and waterfalls to find. Pet friendly, good variety of trails with varying levels of accessibility, one even accommodates wheelchairs. There are two shower houses on each end of the park. There are hookups with or without sewage.

    Maumelle Park

Great COE campground near Little Rock

Stayed 6 nights at Maumelle COE campground next to Arkansas River. Nice and quiet especially after the weekend crowd left. Nice walking trails and still close to major conveniences. We stayed in site E7 which was great for our needs with good privacy.

    Lake Catherine State Park Campground

    Impressed!

I am quite fond of the state parks in Arkansas and this was a clean, quiet, beautiful and safe location near Hot Springs. I was very happy that I could also bring my dog. When I reached my campsite my booking tag was already there and there was some firewood placed on the fire pit for me already. I was only a minute walk from restroom facilities. I also found it was very easy to book last minute after receiving a recommendation from a local barista.

    Cloud Nine RV Park

    Hidden in the trees

I like this park. When we arrived with a reserved pull through site, they asked if we would consider a back in site, which we accepted. There were some park closures due to gov’t shutdown that shifted guests plans. The back on site was really nice against the walking path. The site has full hookups including sewer and cable. The Wi-Fi is pretty good for streaming. I had a little trouble working on a team call but I switched to cellular and it was fine. Both AT&T and Verizon have full bars. We didn’t visit the baths, showers, laundry now coffee shop. The park is quiet and we even got a very friendly visit from the resident black cat, Moses. The sites are level. Be careful on the road in. It’s a little bumpy but it evident they do try to maintain it. It also has two turns that you want to take wide.

    Downtown Riverside RV Park

    Great location

The location is truly excellent with easy access to the Arkansas River Trail, the Clinton library, restaurants and other attractions. Although, there is construction along the river front and around the RV park. There’s really no atmosphere, so stay here if you want great access to Little Rock!

    Lake Catherine State Park Campground

Small free for all tent sites

Small open Campground with no specific sites (Tent Only Area). There is a small lot nearby to park then you must walk everything in. This can be anything from right next to your car to a few hundred feet away depending on where you want to set up. Picnic tables, fire rings and campground grills located throughout but again nothing is marketed as far as site numbers. The area allows for up to six camp permits per night. Could be good for smaller groups. It’s up away from the lake unlike the rest of the campgrounds in the park. There are restrooms nearby with flushing toilets and sinks. Also a playground is located close to the campsite. Overall it was clean but felt cramped among other campers and parking away from the tent made for multiple trips back and forth.
