Sentinel Peak RV Park

Eight miles from downtown Tucson, Sentinel Peak RV Park operates as a concrete-pad facility with full hookups for RVs up to 50 feet. The gated property sits adjacent to a busy street, with an apartment complex across the road and nearby train tracks contributing to consistent urban noise levels.

Sites feature level concrete pads with electric, water, and sewer connections, though the park lacks grass or shade trees. "Please use my pictures as reference of the RV site as the other pictures have grass and trees, which this does not," notes one reviewer about the all-pavement layout. The compact facility includes a small pool and operates with after-hours check-in via text message with gate codes.

Location advantages include walking distance to two grocery stores and proximity to the west side of Saguaro National Park. Construction activity can begin early in the morning, and the close spacing between sites creates a crowded feel during busy periods. Several nearby options provide alternatives, including Vanlife Campground / Hostel - Tucson, AZ just over a mile away.

The park accepts pets and offers WiFi, though campers with dogs will need to walk two blocks to find grass at a nearby park. Reservations are available online with same-day booking possible.

Quick Stop in Tucson

Reserved online same day easy and quick, got a text right away with the important information needed. Great place for a stop off close to downtown. Full hookups no community showers but good for short needed stay.

Certainly the closest RV site to the city but at a cost

Even pavement with FHU. Management was helpful after hour check in by texting information of site and gate code. That being said, it's close right next to a high traffic street with a large apartment complex across the street blasting loud music, airport, train tracks and it just so happens there's construction nearby using the jackhammer at 7:30am.

Please use my pictures as reference of the RV site as the other pictures have grass and trees, which this does not. No shade whatsoever, their pool is like a postage stamp, and it was quite crowded and not very spaced out (probably due to location).

COVID camping

We stayed here when the pandemic shutdowns started. Was a great place to stay put. Walking distance to two grocery stores, fresh filtered water and an ice station across the street, a very small pool to cool off in, close to downtown, and close to the west side of Saguaro National Park.

Downside is that it’s basically a parking lot with no grass (we have 2 dogs) but there’s a big grassy park less than 2 blocks away. It is gated which is nice!

Nancy was a great camp host and took necessary precautions during this time. We’ve actually not met in person because of social distancing and still was very attentive.

Gated rv park downtown Tucson

I stayed for a week in a pull-thru with full hookups. The park is all concrete and gated, which I appreciated in an urban setting. There's a grocery store across the street and only a 5 min drive to downtown Tucson.
