Texas Canyon Rest Area East

This free rest area along Interstate 10 provides overnight parking for RVs and cars, with truckers typically occupying spots closest to the highway. The facility includes 24-hour restrooms, drinking water, and picnic tables, plus designated areas for different vehicle types. Reviewers note the bathrooms stay clean and trash receptacles are regularly emptied.

The site sits among large boulder formations that attract photographers, though campers should watch for burrs that can stick to pet paws and venomous creatures in the rocky terrain. Traffic noise from I-10 carries through the area, but several reviewers found it quieter than expected for roadside camping. The Texas Canyon Rest Area West sits just across the interstate for westbound travelers.

Good sleep

Pulled over here for a quick sleep in my camper van. Got here at 11pm and left at 7:30. No issues. Very quiet for being roadside. 24 hour toilets.

Great one night stop

Texas Canyon rest stop. I10 east. Great one night stop over. All the trash receptors were empty, bath rooms were clean with only air hand dryers,

Truckers parked closest to interstate. Restrooms in center then cars in back.

Note signs of poison insects and snakes. They are true, I got bit and my ankle swelled up. Also there are little burrs all over and every dog walker I see has to stop and pull them out of the dog’s paw.

Huge boulders here and people poise in front of them.

Safe and Clean Highway Rest Stop

Rest area off the highway. It’s well maintained and has a nice dog area. I felt safe and there were many others car camping. You can hear the traffic since it’s close to the highway but that part doesn’t bother me so I give it 5 stars.
