Nice dispersed camping.

Very nice dispersed camping. Only three other RVs here. Great views of wide open spaces

Quiet, beautiful view.

Great spot to split up our drive. Super easy access and road in, the coordinates take you to one spot, but there is multiple here. It’s not far off the road but far enough to be peaceful and quiet! Amazing view of Mt. Graham!

Beautiful & a must if you like isolation. Near Hot Wells with a tub.

Wide open spaces, beautiful at dawn & dusk!

Very little traffic. Decent Verizon & AT&T cell service. Cleaned up some trash to leave it better than I found it.

Dispersed camping but road is rough

We searched for fire agates but decided against camping here because the road is a bit sketchy. The only spot big enough has a large bump that would likely tip my travel trailer farther than is safe.

Perfect

Me and the boys picked a site with a few flat areas for tents. Standard issue picnic tables and fire pits with a flat common area is fantastic. Very easy access to this cute little Lake that is stocked with fish. Good fishing if you're into it. Definitely some trails on the mountain, but we also…

A bit noisy

The camp sites are nice and large. Spaced out for plenty of room. Sound carries like crazy so kids screaming and dogs barking can be disappointing. The bathrooms are well kept as well. The lake is beautiful and a easy walk around for exercise. No campfires allowed.

Accessible and Scenic

We stopped here on our way further west. There were 2 other campers there, but we were able to find a great spot where they couldn’t be seen.

Plenty of sites, ours was 1.5 miles off 191. Easy to get to in our 26’ bus. Saw a handful of vehicles pass by, likely on there way to Hot Wells.

The…

Favorite camping spot in AZ

We really enjoy this spot. There are 7 campsites with ramadas and fire rings. One small pit toilet. There’s a small hiking trail to a bridge that leads to the day use area and along the creek. We saw some coatimundi and lots of evidence of other wildlife! $5 a night is great too!

Not Much To Recommend

Easy access off 191. Shot gun shells, bullet casings, cigarrette butts, broken bottles, mild trash, wide open desert terrain with panorimic Mountain views. BLM free. No services. If this is your thing, go for it. Spent one night.

Wanted to love it

We did not end up camping here. Beautiful location. Road is super rough and narrow in spots going up Mt Graham. Drove up end of June 2020 and there were so many cars parked that you could not drive the camp ground loop to check out the sites. It did not appear to be monitored by a ranger so people…

Peaceful in December

This is the first time I've ever stayed on BLM land. I parked at the 3rd spot in midday and stayed all night. I only saw about 6 vehicles go by the entire time I was here, but I couldn't see or hear anyone else aside from that. The view was nice from my spot. Had about 2 bars on average with…

Riggs Flat Lake

Beautiful area and the lake is great for fishing. The road up is long unpaved and rough so not ideal without 4 wheel drive. The campground was peaceful. Smelled and then saw skunks. Pit toilets and they were NOT clean.

Riggs Flat

The fishing is great for beginners and kids, not hard at all and the entire lake is easily accessible. The views from the top are great, the road in up the mountain is not ideal for small cars since its unpaved for a few miles up. There were a lot of skunks in the area and they will get into your…

Fun day trip or for dispersed camping

Millions of years ago, volcanic activity in the Southwest create lava rocks and fire agate. Inside the Rockhound area you can walk and collect fire agates right off the surface of the ground. It is the desert equivalent of searching for sea shells at the beach. It makes a fun day trip for families…
