Campers report finding level ground can be challenging, particularly near the rock formations where many prefer to park. The area hosts free-roaming cattle that may wander through campsites or block the road, including bulls that generally keep their distance but require awareness.
A single vault toilet serves the camping area, with picnic tables available near the entrance. Cell service reaches most sites. The campground sits adjacent to wilderness area boundaries, placing hiking access within walking distance of some camping spots. "Clean pit toilet within walking distance," notes Christie S. about the maintained facilities.
Temperatures can climb significantly during warmer months, making morning and evening hours more comfortable for outdoor activities. Campers planning visits should bring leveling blocks for uneven terrain and prepare for potential encounters with local livestock.
