Better for early spring / late fall

Awesome secluded campground! Was a bit littered in one particular spot away from some sites but overall good. Not much foliage coverage so if intending to bring pets, best done in cooler months or with RV (could easily make it to this site).

We went over Memorial Day weekend. It was nice and cool during the nights but near unbearable at times when not down at west clear creek or without a portable fan for us and animals. Would come back again earlier or later in year.

Fair amount wildlife seen but mainly all ground critters.

Getting down to West clear creek down bull pen rd, best suited for trucks or other HCV’s. Some small sedans down in the canyon but seemed to have much a harder time going down and coming out.

FR618 Dispersed

A bit popular with it being near Sedona, but you can find some side roads along FR618 that offer a little more privacy. I found a nice spot near a creek with some trees for shade. Sporadic cell service depending on where you park.

Good views, plenty of space

Pulled off along the road. Good place to tent camp. Fire ring. Not too much traffic. Good views. No complaints.

Easy Access to Fossil and Wet Beaver Creek

Dispersed camping along this road with a convenient location to Fossil Creek and Wet Beaver Creek trails.  The campsite was clean and had a fire ring, no facilities so pack out what you pack in! The one we picked had a great view and the STARS WERE INSANE

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the rules and regulations for dispersed camping at Beaver Creek?

FR618 Dispersed Camping follows standard dispersed camping regulations: pack out all trash and leave no trace of your stay. Camping is only permitted in previously established sites, typically identified by existing fire rings. There's a strict requirement to use existing fire rings for any campfires. The area operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservation system. Always check current fire restrictions before planning your trip, as they can change seasonally. Remember to maintain appropriate distance from water sources and properly dispose of human waste.

Where is Beaver Creek dispersed camping located and how do I access it?

FR618 Dispersed Camping is located near Sedona, Arizona, providing convenient access to both Fossil Creek and Wet Beaver Creek trails. The camping area is situated along Forest Road 618, offering beautiful views of the surrounding landscape. To access this dispersed camping area, simply follow Forest Road 618 and look for pullouts where you can set up camp. There are multiple spots along the road where visitors can find established camping areas, some offering more privacy by taking side roads that branch off from the main FR618.

Is Forest Road 618 accessible for all vehicle types to reach Beaver Creek camping?

Forest Road 618 is accessible for most vehicle types, including RVs. The main road is generally well-maintained enough for standard passenger cars to access the camping areas. Some campers have successfully brought RVs to the site without issues. However, if you're seeking more privacy, there are side roads branching off FR618 that may require vehicles with higher clearance. During inclement weather, road conditions could deteriorate, so it's advisable to check current conditions before heading out with lower-clearance vehicles.

What amenities or facilities are available at Beaver Creek dispersed camping area?

FR618 Dispersed Camping is primitive with no formal facilities or amenities. Established campsites typically include fire rings, but you won't find trash services, potable water, or restroom facilities. Campers must pack out all trash and come prepared with all necessary supplies, including water. There's sporadic cell service depending on your exact location within the camping area. The area offers excellent stargazing opportunities due to minimal light pollution. Some sites provide shade from trees, while others are more exposed, which is something to consider when planning your visit.
