Eleven miles south of Quartzsite along Highway 95, this dispersed camping area sits within Kofa National Wildlife Refuge on public land managed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Campers access the sites via a washboard gravel road that extends 5.7 miles from the highway turnoff, with a significant dip at the highway exit that may challenge low-clearance trailers or long RVs.
The camping area features a loop road with several back-in style sites spread across flat, open desert terrain. No amenities are provided—no restrooms, water, tables, or fire rings—though cell service reportedly works well. Sites accommodate big rigs and allow campfires, pets, and alcohol, with a 14-day limit. Hiking trails lead into nearby canyons, and the area offers clear night skies away from town lights. Additional campgrounds just outside Quartzsite provide more developed options for those preferring amenities.
