Cracker Barrel — Flagstaff

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Sitting at roughly 7,000 feet in Flagstaff, this Cracker Barrel parking lot functions as an informal overnight stop for RVs and vans passing through northern Arizona. It is not a designated campground. Signs on the property read "No Camping," but multiple reviewers report that staff have verbally confirmed one-night stays are permitted, with a firm departure time of 7 a.m.

The lot tends to draw a crowd on busy travel weekends, with reviewers noting as many as half a dozen RVs parked at once. Noise from nearby train lines is a consistent factor, so light sleepers should come prepared. Dog owners have flagged that waste cleanup is inconsistent across the lot, which is worth knowing before you park.

The main draw beyond a free overnight spot is the restaurant itself. The store opens at 7 a.m., which aligns with the required checkout time, making it easy to grab breakfast before getting back on the road. As one reviewer put it, the setup is "no different than an RV park." The gift shop and to-go ice cream are noted perks for travelers with kids.

Black Bart's RV Park is located 0.2 miles south and gives campers a more structured alternative with dedicated RV facilities if the informal setup here does not suit their needs.

Many visitors appreciated the convenient amenities like the gift shop and restaurant with early breakfast service. Several guests found it popular with other campers, though train noise was noted as a minor issue.

City Ordinances Disallow “Camping”

We arrived to No Camping signs. We did go inside and talk with a store employee who said there was a city ordinance against it but we could stay so long as we left after 7 am. In addition, there was a number of homeless people in the area. While it seemed very clean and safe, we didn’t want to run the risk of a knock and there tends to be a greater police presence where there are homeless people.

Last minute overnight parking

We were originally staying at HH but didn’t like the setting, got kicked out another location, and pulled in around 8 pm into CB to give a try based on the reviews. What a surprise! Our girls love shopping so they really enjoyed the gift shop. They even accommodate by selling to go ice creams. We were told that we need to leave by 7am the next morning BUT they open at 7 for breakfast. So, hubby and I went into for coffee and delicious old fashion breakfast and brought food back to the girls to enjoy. Other than the trains, this place is no different than a RV park. It’s very popular cause there were half dozen RV parked. Loved and appreciated the find on a busy holiday weekend!

Pulled up around midnight and there were tons of other campers/vans. This is our second time staying here and we had no problems. Live love CB
