horrible winds -- needed jackhammer for stakes

Worst imaginable experience.

Staking in the tent was almost impossible. Apart from sharp gravel for a base, it nearly seemed like concrete to get a stake in. After bending four thick, steel stakes to barely get them in the ground, a gust of wind blew the tent and pulled all of the stakes out.

Not only is there zero option to request a refund, there is likely no recourse for paying me for wasting 1 1/2 hours at their site trying to set things up.

Someone has to be the worst in the industry. Clearly, that's their goal and they achieved it.

Beehives Campground

Convenient, affordable ($14) stop right off of the 89 in the Glen Canyon recreation area. The 6 Campsites are close together with very few natural barriers. There are 2 very clean (the cleanest I’ve ever seen!) pit toilets at the other end of a circular, gravel area from which all the campsites are positioned. Each campsite has a picnic table & sites were fairly level. There are lake & desert views from the site, but the highway is between the site & the lake, which generates noise. I gave it 2 stars, as this is not a camping destination, but a good place to get some rest if you are road weary.

It works

If you’re looking for a quick nights sleep and then to hop back on the road this is the place. Definitely not a destination campground, as it’s right off the high way and has no shade, but to stop and sleep on our cross country road trip this was awesome.

Simple but decent

There are no facilities, and you are quite close to the main road, but it is fairly cheap. We arrived around 2pm and there were only a few spots left. Some people arrived later and could not find a spot.

Not really worth the price

You only get a concrete Picknick table for 14$. No toilets, trash cans or anything else. View is nice though, little noise from the highway.

Great views

Awesome camp site! It was right off the highway and easy to find and quiet. It’s a small camp site so be sure to get here early. If you do decide to stay here, it’s $14 a night and you can only stay a max of three consecutive nights. I would recommend leaving a few items behind like a chair or something to signal that the campsite is taken. There are little cards you fill out and place them in front of your site to signal it’s taken. But some people do not understand the concept behind that. Highly recommend though!

Good place to send a few nights

The spot is an area of blacktop with areas to park your trailer and the table to the side. Was very quiet when we were there. Separated from the road but enough distance such that road noise was not a factor. Would stay here again if needed. There is a nice hiking trail into the “beehive” rock structures behind the RV park.

Nice view

Sunrise is amazing from this point overlooking lake Powell. Limited spots avaliable and it says free on the internet but there is a 14 dollar fee that is to be placed in an envelope/drop box.

Pretty view

6 spots with large center lot makes it easy to maneuver. Nice hike starting at campground. Very quiet and dark at night. Got down to 38, generators running but still tolerable. Would stay again.

Fairly level gravel lot with a view.

Six sites, no utilities, no campfires. Short drive on gravel road probably less than a quarter mile. Great view of Lake Powell area. Short drive to Page A-Z.

No fires allowed anytime. $14/$7 nite senior....3-day limit. Cell signal is good. Some hwy noise. Lots of goat head weeds around CG. Nice slick rock hiking trails out of CG.

No bees

Nice little area off the highway, nothing really fancy. Has a few tables and that's it, and the view and trails are fun. And the overwatch up the road is amazing

Convenient place to stay

Stayed here one night while visiting Lake Powell. Got a peek of the lake from the edge of the campground. Only a few spots - on a Thursday ~4pm there were 2 left. No amenities. Slow, but passable wifi via Verizon.

Very Convenient location

Wicked convenient to Page / Horseshoe Bend / Lake Powell. Still 2 sites available as of 8pm on the Friday of 4th of July weekend, so despite it being small it’s not a bad place to check when others are full! Close to the highway so a little noisy, but a great stopover point for one night.

Right off the road

Not ideal for star gazing since you're right next to the Dam, but right across from Lake Powell and only 20 minutes from Horseshoe Bend. Bring cash and you'll be able to drop that in the envelope. Not a ton of amenities, but great for your basics. Pack in, pack out.

Nice small cg alternative

Nice cg as an alternative to Lone Rock CG. Only 6 sites but ok for TT and smaller RVs. $14/$7 per nite, three nights max. NPS run instead of a consessioner. Some hwy noise but good cell signal on ATT, Verizon and TMobile. No fire rings as no fires allowed. No vault toilet or trash dumpster. No shade!

Simple Quick Find

This is a 6 spot camp ground very small. Self serve envelopes to come in in the middle of the night. Got here at midnight and there were 2 spots left. Perfect for an unplanned stop. Has a nice view and dark enough to watch the stars. I will post pictures in the morning if I remember to.
