Within Tonto National Forest, Bermuda Flat Recreation Site provides shoreline camping along Roosevelt Lake with both designated spots and dispersed options. The US Forest Service manages this drive-in campground, which accommodates RVs up to 32 feet and allows walk-in tent camping.

The recreation area features marked camping spots directly on the shore, accessed through a parking lot with portable toilets available. Campers need a Tonto pass for the designated shoreline sites. "Portajohns available but no potable water," notes Leanne S.. Free dispersed camping spreads across the highway down the dirt road called Bar 3, offering additional space for those seeking more solitude.

Cool cool waters

Got there early on a Thursday and it was great until Friday afternoon, then the weekend warriors arrived. Not too crowded, but some dumbass brought his own town with him and took up a sizeable stretch of beach. Excellent sunrises and sunsets.

Waterfront Oasis

Spent 2 weeks at Bermuda Flat during Easter weekend. Very busy during Easter but thinned out nicely during the week.. weather was warm during the day mid to high 80's. Water was a bit chilly but refreshing. Would stay again but would avoid Easter weekend.

SiteNo designated sites, was able to snag waterfront (first come first serve.

Shoreline camping great but..

The directions will bring you right to the recreation area parking lot, where there are a few marked camping spots on the shore and some portable toilets. You must have a Tonto pass to camp at these spots. Free, dispersed camping is located across the highway down the dirt road Bar 3.
