Beautiful, quiet, & shady

This place did not disappoint. Wife and I were wanting to stay at Desoto State Park but it was full. The husband and wife duo that owns this took us in and treated us like royalty. They looked after us and even stayed up all night to help everyone watch the weather during a tornado watch. RV spots were very shady from all the trees and super quiet. Beautiful piece of property. Bath houses kept hot water too!

Tranquility is what you get

It was a great place. Owners were super nice. Easy to get to local places. Lots of hiking and off roading for 4 wheels drives. WiFi/ Cell not great, but could text out. Shower/ bathroom clean. If you want to get away this is your place. Foliage was still pretty, but would have been better end of October.

Incredibly gorgeous site

A beautiful and peaceful space for tent or RV camping very close to downtown Mentone as well as Desoto State Park. The campground is very wooded and well cared for with separate sites for tent only and RV camping. It has clean and well-maintained bathrooms that are at the top of the hill and there are flowers planted all around. This is one of the few parts of Alabama that is cool enough to camp in the summer(still hot but not miserable). They even have a lake on the grounds of the campground where you can cool off or take a short drive to Desoto falls and rent boats or go swimming. Take a look at their website for more details and all the offerings they have available(cabins).

What a great place!

Tranquility campgrounds and one of the nicest private parks in Alabama. The staff was super friendly, the rates good, and the grounds were clean and well maintained. There is a nice little pond to fish and a few little trails around the park. You can easily get to Desoto falls by foot (.85 mile) with spectacular views. Also this park is just minutes from downtown Mentone and super close to Desoto State Park. It was not too crowded when we went so it was nice and on Monday we felt we almost had the place to ourselves. Each pimative site had water and electricity, so that was nice. The bath houses are also very nice. The sites can be a little closer together so be careful in peak season. I would recommend this place over and over.

Truck camping

Great spot. We stayed the night after Thanksgiving, so we had almost all of the dispersed spots to ourselves. Super quiet right by the lake. Take spot 40 or 41. Only thing to be aware of is the spots are fairly close together, so in peak season it could be tight.

Very nice & peaceful campground

This review is for Tranquility RV and Campgrounds in Mentone Alabama. I really enjoyed camping here. A lake front campsite with water & power hookup was $30 per night and that was on Memorial Day Weekend. The campsite was a nice size and it’s pet friendly. There is a 6 acre lake for fishing but it’s catch & release. And no swimming or kayaks allowed. There was a bath house with toilets and showers not too far from the tent camping sites. DeSoto Falls and Desoto State Park are also very close by. I have map of the campground that shows the lot numbers, I’ll post it with my photos.
