Arrow Rock State Historic Site Campground

We stayed 2 weekend nights in late summer/early Fall. Every site was occupied but still it was pretty quiet. The bathrooms/showers are clean, but maybe could use a few more given the number of sites.

Nice ~2 mile walking trail through the woods was shady and cool despite the heat.

We were in site 019, which was at the end of a loop and had only one neighbor. It backs up to the little lake, so we did hear some noise from the people fishing.

We occasionally got 1 bar on T-mobile.

We stopped here while on a cross country RV trip. We were pleasantly surprised with a nice quiet clean campsite. The hookups were easily accessed and the shower facilities were great after a long day on the road. The only real downfall was the bugs but it’s the outdoors so it happens! The small town of Arrow Rock is as beautiful as it is charming with all the things you could need.

Stayed here overnight and the camphor was very friendly and helped us out. Bathrooms and showers were open, super clean. Peaceful and would definitely stay again to venture into the town

Park was full. We could only book a basic site (no hook-ups) through the website but the camp host easily upgraded us to a vacant electric site. Great park to bring your dogs! The walk or drive to the historic town literally park of the park was a surprise with a couple of hiking paths making each trip different from the first.

Very nice, clean and organized campsite. Sites are spaced further apart for great privacy. Host was pleasant and very friendly. Nice to see him driving through the site checking up on things.

The largest camp area of Arrow Rock is definitely geared towards RVs, but there is a "basic loop" with twelve basic campsites for tent camping. There is a bathroom/shower house very close to the basic loop and the basic loop is well away from the RV area. Right up the road is Big Soldier Lake where you can fish as well. The camp host was helpful in providing firewood and was very attentive of the sites. The campsites are a bit crowded in with each other as there are 12 in the small basic loop, but a few campsites at the back end of the loop provide a lot of area to stretch and spread out into.

Electric only sites, some extremely difficult to level in, but overall a very well maintained park and a great host. The town of Arrow Rock is awesome, adds a great element to staying here.

Beautiful, quiet, shady campground. Lots of space between sites. Fun to explore the historic area. Good, well-marked trails around the campground, to the visitor center, town, and river. We plan to return.

Very nice campsite.  Host were very friendly and more than helpful in welcoming us.  Sites are well spaced and angled to increase privacy. Area is a gold mine of discovery with multiple walking paths under an arch of trees that cover the path to a simple historical downtown area.  Must try is the pork tenderloin plate at J. Houston tavern for dinner.  You will not be disappointed.  Great place to stay and will be back.

Sites aren't too close together and the general feel is quiet.  the bathrooms and showers are clean and well kept.  there is a nice walking path around the area and the historical site is close by.

I stayed in mid November and though the shower houses were closed I had a great time. Spent 3 nights and saw all the area sights, Boonville, Franklin (the start of the Santa Fe trail), the Booneslick salt works ruins and of course the adjacent Arrow Rock State Historic Park. Even traveled west to visit Fort Osage near Independence MO. I had the Pond loop (30amp) campground completely to my self and only a couple hearty tent campers on the 50amp loop. A real gem!

We stayed on site 13 for one night in October 2020. It’s about 15-20 minutes from I70. Electric and water hookups, clean showers, very nice campground host. You’re supposed to reserve>24 hours in advance but we pulled up around 8 pm and got a site. Good spacing between sites, pretty level parking spot, picnic table, fire pit, etc. Huge and empty picnic area- beautifully maintained. Lovely spot. Wish we had more time to explore it. We would return here again.

We got to Arrow Rock just as the sun was setting. A beautiful sunset and a clean campground. Campground hosts were very nice. Bathrooms are large and clean and the showers were very good. We didn’t get to spend much time here as we were just stopping through on our drive heading West, but I definitely recommend!

Fell into this place on accident and loved it. There is a historic town you can tour for free that is within walking distance from the campsites. Large bath/shower houses and the camp hosts were very helpful. There is a small fishing lake in the camp ground. We lived it so much, we went and bought a couple of bicycles to putter around the area. Clean and quiet. No cell phone service really.

No bath house until April 1 and no cell coverage (T-Mobile) but wonderful walking, hiking and biking areas, quaint MO town nearby. Fishing for those so inclined and beautiful RV spaces. One of the nicest vault toilets that we’ve seen. We returned and will again!

The campground is neat and tidy and well maintained. The main appeal is the nearby town of Arrow Rock with its many historic buildings and an excellent interpretation center. Great for a pleasant cycle in the evening or a stroll after a bottle of wine.

We arrived mid week in October without reservations. The campground host was SO helpful in steering us in the right direction both in terms of the campground and there is a Basic loop separate from those with electricity - not very used in October mid week. Bathrooms were centrally located in the campground. The campground is within an easy 1/2 mile of the historic town of Arrow Rock and also a slightly longer hike through woods and leaves and into the Wildlife Refuge to the Missouri River and a landing site. Lewis and Clark and the Santa Fe Trail play into this history here so that's pretty cool too. The Visitor Center at the State Park is really good and tells the story of the area well.

But it is too open of a campsite with few trees and lots of grass. I recommend going on a hike and going to see a show in Arrow Rock! It is great to go when they are having a festival and dress in period clothing.

this campsite has it all if you are liking those camping comforts. showes, facilities, fire pit and lets not forget the hiking trails to include that the Santa Fe Trail crosses the MO river close to this sight. there is even a one room Jail and the george Caleb Bingham's house
