Prophetstown State Park Campground

Water park is super clean. Lots of bike trails and camp sites are all clean and level

A wonderful campground for families. Spacious lots with privacy, a large bathhouse, plenty of space for riding bikes and walking. And a well-designed dump station made the adults happy!

Great campground. Really nice campground - clean, sites with some shade (especially the section with full hookups). Lots of families enjoying camping, kids relishing the freedom of riding bikes and skateboards (unfortunately too few with helmets including one with a major black eye). Nice walking trails right off of campground. Aquatic center in park. We would return - except that crossing the country on highway 70 is brutal

I prefer quieter, more spaced out campgrounds. But if I had young kids and was looking for lots of fun stuff to do, this would be a great park. I did really love the bike trails. There’s a huge aquatic park which would be great for family’s.

One of only a handful of state parks which offer full hookups, Prophetstown is the best in the state.  Clean sites, friendly staff, a community-like atmosphere, and only 15 min to Purdue's campus, this park has it all.  Multiple playgrounds for the kids, great hiking/biking trails, and a resort-like water park in the summer.  Book early, as these sites go fast!

Been here 5 times now and it’s still one of our favorite places to go. Water was on in the 100 section in February so that was nice. Farm is awesome because you can get beef and pork fresh. Water park in the summer is a hit for our kids. All in all it’s a great place. Our campsite was 1/2 off side to side and close to 4” front to back so not bad at all

We stayed here for a quick overnight on a longer trip and want to come back for longer. Massive spots in a wooded area with lots of privacy. Full hookups as well as electric only with convenient potable water and dump stations. Nice playgrounds, bike trails (paved & mountain),fishing and an excellent aquatic center ($5 per person).

The sites are nice. Good internet Bathhouse clean

Hiking, biking trails, playgrounds, lake, dairy, and Waterpark. Large sites, very nice place to camp.

Prophetstown State Park has a lot going on. First off it’s got a lot of different nature habitats, including prairies and wetlands. Beyond that there’s exhibits, an old village, and other fun activities. It wasn’t too busy when we went but I imagine it can get pretty busy and possibly noisy in the warmer months.

Everything is brand new, including shower houses . Camping / rv spots a little close together, but nice.

We hold our annual Family reunion here every year! Very affordable for everyone traveling into town. Huge Pavilions to rent with access to restrooms and playgrounds. Also great aquatic center that’s cheap!!

We visit this park often throughout the year to ride the nice paved bike trails and take pictures of the restored prairie and wildflowers.  We also take our first camping excursion of the season here to make sure the camper is good to go for the season.  The full hook up sites book up quickly, and the electric only often do as well, so book your weekend early.

The sites are all pretty spacious, with a gravel pad for your camper or tent.  The electric only sites lack shade, so bring an awning or canopy.  There is also only one comfort station, although it has never been packed even with a full campground.  Some of the sites are called buddy sites, and the gravel camping pads are close to each other, so consider that when booking.

The hiking and biking trails are all moderate, but again they are in the open and a sunny day can wear you out without a hat and water.

We love this park to visit and to stay, and will always recommend it!

The whole premise of Prophetstown is to recreate pre-colonial landscape so not a lot of mature growth trees around the park, but nice sites with some trees in the full hookup area, very “prairie” in electric only area. Water park (closed 2020) is nice attraction as are hike and bike trails, fishing, and The Farm.

This is a really nice campground with many shaded sites. We camped in a pull-through full hookup site that was very level. There is a 5-mile paved bike trail that runs through the park. The trail winds through a prairie to where the Wabash and Tippecanoe Rivers meet. Very pretty ride. The state park has a water park and a working farm.

This is a great campground to just relax at. It is very clean including the restrooms. You must have all your equipment on the rocks provided. They have some walking trails and a nice farm at the front of the park. Overall, there isn’t a lot to do, but it is still a nice campground.

Prophetstown is a very well kept and clean park.  The sites book up super fast on weekends and you have to book months out. If you tent camp like we do the park makes you set tent up on gravel which is a little disappointing.  The best sites are the rev sites and they are slowly growing the tent ones.  Very little shade.  Unless you are on a full hookup site.  The playgrounds are nice and big but far away from the electric sites.  Bike trails are great and paved roads make it easy.  The best thing about this park is the water park. Not included for camping price but still decent priced.  We did go 3 days ina row which cost us $40 total for the weekend.  It can become costly if you go to the park multiple Fay’s ina row.  Overall our trip was great.  We have camped 2 times now.

We have camped at Prophetstown many times, and it is always a fun time. The sites are almost all level and gravel covered which is nice. The facilities are always very clean and newer. The DNR patrol a lot and are really on top of things. The farm is fun to visit, and the water park is definitely worth a visit. It very well maintained and the kids absolutely love it! They have a great playground there too out by the big shelters. We have another trip planned at Prophetstown later this summer, and we can’t wait!

This state park has it all. Sites are amazing! In the 100’s they are full hookup, yes that’s right sewer hookups in a state park! The 200’s are electric only. They offer a water park for a small fee, fishing, Bike trails, nature center, Indian village and have an 1800’s working farm where you can buy eggs and bacon. Easy to access right off of 65 and plenty to do in the area.

Spacious sites and accessibly paved drive makes it easy to car camp here. Neat thing about this area is the clear examples of two biomes meeting (tall-grass prairie and eastern deciduous forest). This central forest-grassland transition makes for fairly easy trails that the whole family could participate in. Great bird watching here.

Stayed here from Thursday to Monday. Park is clean, sites roomy.

There isn't a whole lot to do in the park itself. Once you've seen the Indian village, self guided, and the homestead, you're pretty much done. The biking is on nice pavement, but not many trails.

There is a nice water park for families. We didn't spend any time there, so I don't feel I can give it a review at this time.

The potential is there, I guess time will tell if it gets developed.

The full hookups are awesome! Love that capability, and being five minutes from Lafayette, and all the activities and things to see it offers was nice. We will go back again, just wish there was more to do in the park itself

Prophetstown State Park is located between Lafayette and Battleground, IN. It proved to be a lovely place to stay. We parked in Spruce Loop which had spacious sites and full hookups. I especially appreciated the fact that all the sites were, at the least, partially shaded and at a distance from neighboring sites. We were also within easy walking distance of a spacious and clean vault toilet. A little further walk brings you to a large restroom/shower facility. It also was very clean. The full hookup sites are in Spruce Loop. Electric only sites are in Savanna Loop. They are fairly new so not offering much shade as yet, although plenty of young trees are sprouting. They park offers much in the way of hiking, biking, playgrounds, basketball court, spacious shelters, a farm and nature center to visit, plus a large fun, water park. We plan to return with our bikes and also with a grandchild soon.

Inside the park are blacktop trails for hiking or bike riding. They also have walking trails. Nice and relaxing campground. Modern bathhouse, three large playgrounds and shelters to use.

The full hook up sites are level and private.

sites have chip gravel, clean sites, clean comfort stations. This is NOT a woodsy campground with waterfalls. read the descriptions. Some sites are full hookup. they planted some trees in the prairie area. Spruce trees In the spruce loop are dyIng from whatever Is killing all spruce trees. Bike trails are paved and good for little ones and families. Waterpark is $5.00 and entertains all ages. Haven’t been to the Wolf Park nearby but planning to go.

Well kept and clean area in the plains of Indiana. Great amnesties for the area such as a new, large public pool and a few hiking and biking trails.

Wonder campground! We have camped here several time during 2017 and have never been disappointed. Very nice shower house. Great swimming pool, paved bike & walking trails. Nice wooded trails and shelters for group events.

Battle Creek near by as well as on site historical/informational site to visit. Rangers offer several options for activities.

We plan to camp there again during the 2018 season.

We go to Prophetstown State Park sometimes because it is close to Lafayette, IN, and it is a place where you can go hiking. You can ride bikes within the park if you want to. Fairly large modern campground area w/ water and electrical hook-ups, bath house and restrooms. Everything was quite clean here, and very little trash seen on the ground. This is one of Indiana's newest state park and has a lot of acres of prairie, so much of the landscape is not very impressive. Most hiking trails are easy to hike on, but a bit boring compared to some other more scenic parks. Not much shade at many of the campsites. Can do some birding here if interested.
