Best resort in western Michigan! Every amenity you could want, with a full water park included! Brand new infrastructure, concrete pads, and everything is exceptionally well maintained. We make an annual trip here with neighborhood friends from Chicagoland!
One of only a handful of state parks which offer full hookups, Prophetstown is the best in the state. Clean sites, friendly staff, a community-like atmosphere, and only 15 min to Purdue's campus, this park has it all. Multiple playgrounds for the kids, great hiking/biking trails, and a resort-like water park in the summer. Book early, as these sites go fast!
Great spot for a quick overnight stop. Clean, level, and updated sites, especially KOA Patio sites with paver patios, stone fire pits, and LP grills. Friendly staff, nice store, and prompt service. The noise from I-80 was minimal to us, as we didn’t even recognize it (didn’t hear one set of engine brakes at night). Park is lacking in “kids activities”, as this is a Journey and not a Holiday, but if you can accept that, you’ll be fine. Figure this site is perfect for folks going to/coming from the Rockies, needing a place to sleep for a night along the way. Will definitely stay again if we are out this way!
Stayed here overnight while heading to Colorado. Extremely friendly staff, very clean site, easy check-in and points redemption, and tons of activities for the kids. We would absolutely come back to stay for a full weekend!
Very clean and secure overnight park just outside of STL. Phenomenal views of downtown and the arch, and fairly easy access to I-55/64/70. Facilities lacked some amenities (only vending machines, convenience store has shut down), but clean, paved, level sites with full hookups throughout.
This resort caters to the 20-something party crowd. If you’re in that demo, you’ll love it, if you’re not, you won’t. Camp store is nice, but campsites can be lacking.
Multiple weekends spent at this campsite, both with and without family. RV sites are clean, mostly level, and well spaced out, with quiet hours rules to accommodate families. The "Zoo" is for the younger and rowdier crowd, and is located north of HWY 8, away from the family-friendly sites, and has later quiet hours and is known for its party-like atmosphere. Campers in this area are effectively "locked in" after a certain time, to prevent the rowdiness from spilling over after hours. Amenities are plentiful, and the camp store is larger than most convenience stores you'd find on the highway. Floating options are plentiful, with multiple routes and raft/canoe/tube options available. Either float away from your campsite, with a shuttled return, or take the shuttle to the put-in, upstream, and float back to your campsite. An annual tradition!
Stayed here while visiting friends in the metro - one of the few RV parks in the area. Pads were concrete, level, clean, and well-maintained. Easy walk to Worlds of Fun and Oceans of Fun, with some back-in sites offering tremendous views of downtown KC. Kids loved the fireworks at Worlds of Fun in the evenings, and could be seen from our pad. Check-in was easy, and store was stocked with plenty of essentials. Just off I-435, with easy access to the park from the interstate system.
Stayed here for a weekend while visiting family. All self-service, as reservations, payment, site assignment, etc are all taken care of at time of booking. Once booked, door codes for shower house, etc are e-mailed with confirmation. Owner was extremely helpful and attentive, and stopped by to say hi while we were hooking up. There are some extended stay residents, and campground is located adjacent to trailer park, but overall experience was safe, clean, and easy. We look forward to returning this year!
Nice KOA property which sits directly next to - and shares amenities with - the Indiana Beach Campground, next door. Clean facilities and grounds, and friendly staff. Most sites need new tamped gravel, and WiFi is spotty, but nothing out of the ordinary.
