Lake Louisa State Park Campground accommodates RVs up to 85 feet with electric and water hookups at sites ranging from $24-120 per night. The campground sits between two lakes—Dixie and Hammond—with three loops containing 60 sites total. Several sites include sewer connections, though specific site numbers require advance confirmation when booking through the reservation system.
The park's location just off Route 27 puts campers within 20 miles of Orlando attractions while maintaining access to rolling hills uncommon in Florida state parks. Perry J. notes "the campground is situated between two lakes, Dixie and Hammond," with Lake Louisa itself being "much larger but quite a distance from the campground." Most sites offer partial shade at best, making portable shade structures essential during warmer months. The proximity to the highway generates early morning traffic noise that some campers find disruptive.
Kayak and canoe rentals operate from the camp store near Dixie Lake, though rental boats restrict paddlers to Hammond Lake only. The park maintains fishing piers at both Dixie and Hammond lakes, plus a swimming beach at Lake Louisa accessible by car. Miles of paved roads wind through the property, creating popular cycling routes that hosted triathlon training during some visits. Hiking trails connect through pine forests where campers spot bobcats, wild turkeys, and other wildlife.
Two bathhouses serve the campground with consistently clean facilities and hot showers. The camp store stocks essentials including firewood and ice. Primitive walk-in sites require carrying gear approximately a quarter-mile into pine forest areas with no water or facilities. For those seeking campgrounds around Clermont, this park provides year-round access with advance reservations recommended, especially during peak seasons when day-trippers from Tampa and Orlando frequent the area.
