Gros Venture Campground

We had secured two nights while exploring the lower Yellowstone Park and the Grand Tetons. The staff were friendly and helpful at check-in. Facilities were clean. Be prepared to follow strict BearBeware regulations. We did get to see moose-a cow and bull. Others shared they saw the calf too but we missed that sighting. We could tell that moose frequently visit the area due to the amount of scat between our site and the river. A bit off the beaten path but still a great spot while visiting the area.

Gross Ventre was our base camp for adventure. It had plenty of space for our raft trailer. It was quiet in the F loop. The host team was outstanding. We are going back!!

We have loved our stay. Our one and only complaint is on our reservation we were charged a fee for water hookups and arrived to be informed that there are no water hookups and they just charge a fee for water. Luckily we have big tanks and a bladder that can last us some time. Everything else has been amazing. We will 100% come back if given the chance. Loved the Tetons and Jackson Hole!

Easy to book on rec.gov- huge campground, nice hosts, really close to the Tetons !! Plus clean flushable toilets!

Love this site! Great camp hosts, lots of families and campers of all ages, and everything is really clean. Bathrooms, potable water, dump stations, and ice are all available at the entrance.

The campground is close to the park, and just down the road from some great spots frequented by moose.
