Gros Ventre Forest Service Road

Fishing and hiking along the Gros Ventre River draw campers to this dispersed site past Atherton Campground, where a steep gravel road offshoot requires clearance and four-wheel capability. A stock 4Runner handles it, but low-clearance vehicles should not attempt the main spur. Fire rings are already in place. Expect heavy mosquitoes in summer. FR 30363 Dispersed — Teton NF (Gros Ventre Road) sits just to the west for campers who want a slightly different access point along the same corridor.
