Menominee River State Park & Recreation Area 2 houses Stoney Hill Site, a boat-in campground that requires watercraft access along the Menominee River. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources manages this $16-per-night site, which provides basic amenities including toilets and allows campfires.
Reservations are available for this riverside location. Campers need to plan for boat transportation of all gear and supplies, as no road access exists to the site. The river setting positions visitors near water activities, though the boat-in requirement limits this option to those with watercraft and the ability to transport camping equipment by water.
Description
There are four canoe campsites available on the Wisconsin shore of the Menominee River. Signs with a canoe and tent symbol mark the campsites. These sites are for groups of six persons or less. On the Wisconsin side of the river, campsites are only available by reservation.
At each site there is a fire ring, a cleared spot to pitch a tent, benches and a primitive latrine. No non-designated island camping is permitted on Wisconsin islands in the river.
