Description

Wildcat Retreat is a cozy cabin nestled in the West Virginia mountains, with everything you need for your getaway.

The highlights:

  • Grill on our huge deck
  • Relax in the outdoor hot tub!
  • Hang out and roast s___mores around our fire pit
  • Warm yourself by the living room stone fireplace
  • Relax in our jacuzzi spa tub
  • Drive 20 mins into Berkeley Springs for amazing restaurants, shopping, and dozens of festivals

Enjoy!

The Space: Our family-friendly cabin is packed with amenities and fun for couples, families or small groups of friends.

The cabin includes:

  • One bedroom + a loft sleeping area (three beds total + daybed)
  • A huge wrap-around deck with a propane grill
  • Spa tub with jets in the main bathroom
  • Outdoor hot tub perfect for relaxing
  • Large stone fireplace in the living room to keep you cozy at night
  • Central AC and heat (so you___re always comfortable!)
  • Fully-stocked kitchen with a dishwasher, stove/oven, and microwave
  • Outside fire pit with seating for the whole gang

We often take our three little kids and dog to the cabin with us, so we're very family- and dog-friendly. Unfortunately we don't allow cats (we're allergic).

Two things to note: 1) the tap water often has a yellow/light brown appearance due to high minerality levels -- specifically iron and manganese. We___ve had the pipes/well inspected and there___s nothing wrong with them; the presence of iron/manganese is normal in this area, and the water is perfectly safe to drink (although it can occasionally have a slight sulfur smell). That said, we have a Brita pitcher with filters we regularly change that you can use; it___s on the kitchen counter near the sink. We also recommend bringing bottled__water. 2) This cabin has a wood-burning fireplace and stove that add to its coziness. We recommend you bring your own firewood to enjoy! Also, it's common for a smoky smell to linger in the wooden-interior cabin after use.

Beyond the cabin itself, we love how close to everything we are -- particularly the Great Cacapon River and Berkeley Springs. The Great Cacapon is fantastic for kayaking, canoeing, and fishing throughout the year. And the town of Berkeley Springs has been voted one of the top arts communities in the US; the shopping, spa, and restaurant scene does not disappoint!
