Army Camp - New River National Scenic River

Pit toilet building was well maintained and no smell, only issue was lack of water. Sites were large and fellow campers were polite and quiet. No cell service from 20-30min away. 11 total sites but late commers were able to park in the day use area.

The Campground is small...Maybe 15 sites. It was full when we arrived. Luckily, there are 2 or 3 dispersed sites along the road into the Campground. They are on the river, too. Perfect for an overnighter.

clean restrooms, for the most part nice spacious campsites. fire ring, lamp hanging post, picnic table and pea gravel tent pads. the 3 star rating, been there 4 times now and left early on 3 occasions due to the locals and or self announcing homeless with their lack of respect for ALL other campers peace. have seen others packing up and leaving early for the same reason. most likely will not be going back.

Good campground. I would say great, but due to a non-native rare plant that has invaded the campground, they are unable to mow. And the mosquitos are swarming because of the high grass. Definitely bring whatever you need to keep the bugs off. Campground was good, clean sites, gravel pads, close primitive facilities, close river access.

Free campground. Fire circles. Nice gravel RV spots. 2 accessible sites. Pit toilets. Very close to the New River, nice beach access. No one else was there on our visit in April.
