Great swimming spot!
One of the many awesome boat up National Forest Service campgrounds along Lake Chelan. Nice shady spots, with firepits, picnic tables, and pit toilets. One CCC type shelter available, too. Creek is next to the campground. Bring a water purifying device. Dock for a couple of power boats, also easy access beach for kayaking. Great swimming area! Cost=Free! No permit required for kayaks, but annual dock permit is required for tying larger boats up to the dock.
Location
Safety Harbor Campground is located in Washington
Directions
From Chelan, travel south on Highway 97A for 3 miles. Turn right onto Southshore Road and go approximately 17 miles to Twenty-Five Mile Creek State Park. From the Twenty-Five Mile Creek State Park boat launch, boat approximately 5.5 miles up lake. Campground is on the north shore. Note: Twenty-Five Mile Creek State Park is a popular boat launch for accessing many up lake recreation sites via personal boat.
