Great host + beautiful view

Drove in with no expectations, but the view of the lake is beautiful. Only one other person in the whole camp at this time of the year so it was quiet. Clean and Dan, the host, takes good care of you! An easy stop right off the highway

Great campground to launch your boat

Nothing to complain about but nothing special. It’s clean, convenient but not much else. It is nicely paved so good for roller skates etc. The bank is very steep/high so no access to lake from campground. There is access to the lake through a gate in the campground that leads to the boat launch. That area really is just for boats. The area off to the side (away from the boats)of the launch is filled with tons of wood debris so not good for swimming or playing in the water. If you had a boat the launch is very convenient to the campground and I saw a lot of people fishing on the lake. If you are looking to swim I highly recommend driving to the main campground. Also there is another review on the site that talks of kayaking to an island from this campground which is great information (and not sure there is anywhere else you can post good off the grid camping) but not it’s not really relevant to this campground.

Kayak Camping

Launched from this spot to bogucki island. More primitive-style camping but still very fun if you’re okay with an hour long kayak ride.
