About Mill Pond Historic Site

Please note:

The Mill Pond Historic Site is currently closed for the 2018 season for implementation of the Mill Pond Dam Removal and Habitat Restoration Project. This site will reopen for the 2019 summer season with a new picnic pavilion, renovated picnic site, and parking area. A new loop trail system with a footbridge over the canyon at the former dam site  will also be available connecting the this site with the Mill Pond Flume Trail #520 and Mill Pond Campground. The new trail system will include fishing access paths to Sullivan Creek. For more information about this project, please visit Seattle City Light’s Mill Pond Dam Removal and Habitat Restoration Project website.

This site details the early history of Metaline Falls through a series of interpretive signing. A historic cabin is located along the interpretive trail which travels over the Mill Pond Spillway.
