All time favorite campground

I have been camping here for 20 years and I just love it. I’m pretty high maintenance when it comes to picking a spot. I gotta have water running through it, preferably a creek, needs to be heavily wooded, private and dispersed, and cool things to explore. Driving up Mt Salmo, visiting the old nickel mining cabin, exploring the creek and surrounding woods, Sullivan Lake is perfect for paddleboarding and jumping off the bridge, and the adorable Metalline Falls nearby with its historic cemetery and 500million year old limestone Gardner Cave, this place genuinely has it all. I will say, however, people have not been respecting the forest like they used to. It seems every year I come up there’s more and more trash left in sites. Seems like the wrong people have gotten word about this getaway. This last year somebody left a bucket full of feces in my spot. Remember y’all, leave it better than you found it.

Sullivan Creek Campground Site 6

We love this site. Close to the road and creek. Large site that can accommodate two small travel trailers (up to 20 ft) and multiple tenting areas. Large bear box, and fire ring. There are toilets about 1/4 mile down the road. Close to Sullivan lake, and campground. Lots of hiking trails near by.

Priest lake is about 40 miles down the road, but only accessible during the summer months due to snow.

Campsite 8

This site #8 is one of the larger sites at Sullivan Creek.

It’s right next to the river and about 150 yards from the road.

At the site: Fire Ring, and a bear box. Across the road there is a vaulted toilet along with a few campsites there next to each other.

Pack in and pack out! Sullivan lake is about 2-3 miles west and priest lake is 20+ miles to the east. If you do not have a 4wd vehicle I wouldn’t recommend driving on the service road to Priest, and depending the time of year the snow pack about 10 miles in will stop you!
