This privately-managed dispersed camping area accommodates big rigs but currently remains closed to the public. Marshall Lake sits near Newport, Washington, where campers previously found sites scattered through a treed meadow with direct lake access. The no-wake lake drew kayakers and paddleboarders seeking calm water conditions.
Reviews from its operating years highlight the lake's crystal-clear water and easy boat launch access. Sites lacked clear definition, with some offering electrical hookups for $40 while others provided dry camping only. Basic facilities included restrooms with shower curtain doors and coin-operated showers available through the camp attendant. A small on-site store operated with limited supplies.
The lake maintained a reputation for low boat traffic, making it suitable for swimming and paddle sports. Sveta K. notes the closure after "25 years" of visits, reflecting its long-standing appeal to repeat campers. Horseshoe pits and volleyball courts provided additional recreation options during busier periods.
Those exploring the region can find alternative campgrounds near Newport or check nearby options like Bead Lake for similar lake-based camping experiences.
