Index Town Wall Parking Area

its a great spot next to the river just dont make a fire before checking for the burn ban

Great camping place near the river. Most people hang out at the parking lot, probably climbers. We put a tent. Very clean and beautiful place. Highly recommend!

Outside of Index, this parking lot is small and safe. There is a parking area on your way to the pin, keep going west and it’s on the north side. People were in and out to go hiking, but we put our tent up and slept. Train was close and loud but good noise! No water, no restroom.

Camped in our van overnight, which many climbers do. Some people set up tents though. Just a couple minutes away from the town of Index, which has a general store. This area is jointly maintained by the state park, the Washington climbers coalition, and American alpine club. You can rinse off at the river nearby.
