Free and first-come, first-served, Green Mountain Camp on Town Road 11 sits within Green Mountain National Forest outside campgrounds around Granville, with drive-in sites on an open field to the left of the road and a handful of walk-in sites on the right. Toilets are the only facility on-site. The clearing opens to views of three mountain ranges, and the right side of the road has wild apple trees alongside flowering plants that draw birds, butterflies, and bees. Fall weekends draw a crowd, but midweek visits in late September have turned up multiple open sites. Campers who want a low-infrastructure overnight stop in a working national forest landscape will find it worth the drive.
