Serene peaceful campground

Great campground. Sites scattered under pines. Managed by a contractor and host onsite sometimes. $25/ $12.50 senior (update now $33/$16.50 senior, may 2025). Lake is non-motorized paddle craft only and a catch n release via permission from the adjacent Red Canyon Lodge. Water spigots scattered around, dumpsters, and vault toilets. Cell signal was good for verizon and att, TMobile not so good. Most sites can be reserved and others are FF (5,7,8,13,16,18,19). Total of 19 sites and one group site. Campground loop road is a bit patchy and has some potholes. FS needs to get it fixed. Camp host sometimes here or at Canyon Rim CG.

Beautiful Greens Lake

Greens lake is a beautiful little spot with a couple of amenities most campgrounds may not have. Yes it has the obligatory vault toilets that smell and are a bit buggy, but hey, its a camping spot. Picnic tables are a nice addition as well, but still standard fair thus far. Trees are ample for some shade and the grounds are clean and well taken care of. Make sure you get firewood from somewhere, because this place is picked clean. One of the gems of all this is the lake, a short walk from any camp spot, you can fish and just enjoy its peace and tranquility. NOW for the best part!!! You are walking distance from Red Canyon Lodge, super great food when you get tired of Hotdogs and Chili, plus horseback riding and beautiful views of the canyon just up the road. Also Flaming Gorge Lodge a bit futher but easy driving distance has another great restaurant and guide services. I am heading back this weekend. Enjoy.

Roomy and Gorgeous

Pleasantly surprised by this campground. Unlike many campground where you are elbow to elbow with your neighbors, this one is very spacious and gives you quite bit of breathing room. Very well kept. Clean and quiet. There are several nearby trails that are easily accessed plus the nearby Red Canyon Lodge where you can fish, rent a paddleboat/canoe, have a bite to eat or ride horses. This campground is about 20 minutes from Flaming Gorge Dam.
