Description
Tucked at the end of a steep canyon road on BLM land along the San Juan River, this spot delivers canyon-framed solitude and a direct view of Mexican Hat Rock rising to the west. Fire rings, a relatively level surface, and the constant sound of the river below define the experience — there's room for a handful of rigs across several pullouts, with the end-of-road position keeping traffic minimal. The descent is bumpy and steep with a couple of sharp dips, manageable for rigs up to around 25 feet in dry conditions, but the road becomes slick when wet and warrants caution.
