Dirt roads and dispersed sites define the Butler Wash experience. The native-surface road running north from the pay station accesses scattered campsites along Lower Butler Wash, and while one reviewer found it well-maintained, it can become muddy when saturated. No water, trash service, or flush toilets are available; two porta-potties at the pay station are the only facilities on-site. Cell signal ranges from fair to nonexistent depending on where campers set up. The area tends to work best for overlanders and short-wheelbase vans rather than large trailers or toy haulers. Campers wanting more developed options can browse camping near Bluff, or check out Lower Butler Wash Road Dispersed (BLM) for similar dispersed sites nearby.
