Perry Reservoir Dispersed — Cache National Forest

Description

High in the Cache National Forest near Black Mountain, this dispersed corridor climbs a rocky, rutted mountain road toward Perry Reservoir — with numerous marked pullouts along the lower gravel miles offering shaded, level spots, some with fire rings and privacy between them. The upper road demands high-clearance and, above the lower pullouts, genuine 4WD, with exposed switchbacks and sheer drop-offs rewarding those who push higher with sweeping valley views. The reservoir itself sits behind a gate that may require a short hike to reach; late spring through fall offers the widest access window, though midsummer brings bugs at elevation.
