Winter backcountry enthusiasts will find a heated refuge at this Forest Service yurt, accessed via a 2.5-mile hike into Millcreek Canyon. The structure features bunk sleeping areas and a wood-burning stove that maintains warmth during cold nights. Campers can gather firewood on-site, and the location sits near a creek within the Wasatch National Forest boundaries.
The yurt fills up quickly due to its proximity to urban areas while still providing a backcountry feel. Reservations are essential for securing dates, especially during peak winter months when the heated accommodation becomes most valuable to campgrounds around Mounthaven visitors. Plan to book well in advance for weekend stays.
