Pine Valley Equestrian Campground

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Sitting at elevation in the Pine Valley Mountains within Dixie National Forest, this US Forest Service campground runs from mid-May through late September and caters specifically to equestrian visitors alongside traditional tent and RV campers. The campground sits close to both a stream and a lake, and the surrounding forest provides enough tree cover to keep temperatures noticeably cooler than the lowland valleys nearby. Sites are laid out so that individual camps are not visible to one another, which contributes to the sense of having the place to yourself even when the campground has other guests.

Horse stables are positioned away from the camping areas, and reviewers consistently note there is no odor from the horses reaching the tent sites. Restrooms have drawn repeated mentions for cleanliness. A stream runs within a short walk of the sites, and at least one camper spent extended time hiking along it through shaded woodland. The campground has cell service, drinking water, and picnic tables, and accommodates RVs up to 45 feet.

Chad M. describes it as a "very quiet campground" where he "felt like we were alone." Nearby options include Dean Gardner Campground and Pine Valley Guard Station for groups needing additional sites in the same area. Reservations are available and worth booking in advance, particularly for summer weekends when the elevation makes the campground a draw during hot weather.

Visitors often highlighted the beautiful natural setting with stream access and wooded areas for exploration. The campground offers excellent privacy between sites and maintains clean facilities, though it's located 90 minutes from Zion National Park.

Pine Valley Equestrian s

Very quiet campground and felt like we were alone. Can’t see other sites. Horse stables away from tents and didn’t smell at all. Restrooms really clean. Can’t wait to go again

Great campsite.

I camped at this site for a week during a trip to Zion National Park. It's a great place to stay with scenic areas, potable water, and vault toilets. Highly recommend for people planning to visit Zion during a highly trafficked time of the year when sites are few and far between (if you are willing to drive an hour and a half to the park).

Absolutely beautiful!

Gets cooler at night, great for the fire and sleeping. A nice break from the heat of the Valley. Has a gorgeous, peaceful stream running a very short walk from the sites. I spent most of my time walking through shaded woods along the stream and collecting water for boiling along with firewood. Can’t wait to go again!
