Perfect spot

Absolutely amazing spot. Not many people there. Got cold when the sun went down and the wind was ripping off the lake. Rain was forecasted but was supposed with snow. Will definitely be going back in the warmer weather.

The campground is beautiful.

Kents Lake Campground is beautiful and clean and the camp host is very friendly.  The lake was soooo disappointing however.  It was full (not just on the surface) of harmful grass clipping algae.https://deq.utah.gov/water-quality/photo-examples-of-harmful-algal-blooms-habs. )

We put our paddle boards in hoping to hop off the boards into the water out in the middle of the lake, but it was so gross and scary looking that we didn't even touch the water.  After we got home, we looked it up and we found that it is a harmful algae.

Amazing views

This is a great campground with great views overlooking the lake.  I will warn you that the dirt road up to the campground is pretty steep and long so make sure you put it in a low gear and go slower to avoid overheating if you are pulling a heavy load.  The access to ATV/UTV trails is right from the campground.  There is zero cell service and if you need anything at all, you have to drive back down to Beaver, UT where there is a small grocery store.

There is a lot of shade on the campsites closer to the main road.  The sites closest to the water didn't seem to have as much shade.  The campsites are on a hill side so you have to walk uphill back to your site if you go to the lake.  Lots of trees for hammocks too.

Kents Lake Adventure July 2021

Kents Lake was a nice surprise for us.  However, the lake water level was low and had green algae on it. The canoe did get in the water and it was a nice, calm lake. We kept the dogs away from the water. Fishing was okay, not excellent, but we got a few bites.  Weather was rainy various times through our 5 day stay and downpour is the best description. The road getting to campground was a rough dirt road, but they were grading and working on parts of it so there is hope for a smoother ride next time. The campground was quiet most of the time. We would visit here again.

Noisy and uncomfortable

Be prepared to drive in on a winding mountain with cows grazing, best not to drive in at night if can be avoided.

Our site wasn’t easy to use as it was on quite a slope with asphalt that was breaking up making the picnic table area dangerous to use.

Dated bathroom.

Very noisy at night.

Lake front

Beautiful location with endless summer mountain activities. Water taps and vault toilets, no hook ups. Mixed pull through, back in, and tent sites. Perfect for under 30' campers. The area has several lakes, ATV trails, hiking trails, and scenic drives. Lakes have trout, some allow small motorized boats.

Very pretty!

Stayed at site 17, some sites are reservable but some are first come first serve, I got there at noon and got the very last spot.

Fire pit and picnic table at each site, vault toilets and water available. Nothing else around for a while, so pack plenty of supplies. Decent amount of privacy, but my neighbors were still pretty close I could hear them most of the time. Host was very friendly. BIG spot for people who come and fish during the day. You can walk all around the lake and explore freely but there wasn’t really any established hiking trails.

You can drive there in any vehicle, but highly recommend a high clearance car. I got out there in my Toyota Corolla but it was a rough ride, wished I had something better. Paved road turns into a gravel road, stay on the gravel road for about 5miles, you’ll see signs for Kent’s Lake and a few other campgrounds.

Great fishing

Kent’s campground is great place to have an RV or pitch a tent. Amazing scenery all around Beaver area. Rainbow trout are average size. Running water and bathrooms all around the campsite. Camp host is very friendly to everyone. Busy on the weekend, during the week not so much. Kent’s campsite done by September 15, not sure when it opens again.
