Big Springs Campground, Bancroft, Idaho

The last 7 miles are a well maintained road. The scenery prior to arrive is breath taking. Campground is beautiful with spacious area between sites and wonderful pavilion over the picnic table. It was quiet enough to hear the water in the creek while in our campsite. We will definitely stay here again.

Beyond Extreme Rough Road

If you can arrive in one piece the campground is nice, typical one. The 18 mile road is beyond rough. Dirt road and driveways in the campground with pit toilets. Lake is breathtakingly beautiful. Wildlife was abundant in the area.

Fremont Lake Campground, Wyoming

If you are looking for great camping, clear beautiful lake to fish and 8 miles to town this is the place for you. We loved this place.

Thompson Flat Campground near the top of the world

We loved our stay at Thompson Flat! We had a fantastic time and our dogs loved it too. We were one of 3 campsites in use during out stay in the last half of September. We never saw a camphost anywhere, but the forest service were thinning trees during out stay.  There were clear markings on the trees from antler rubbing by deer and elk.  You are in direct line with a tower on another mountain peek to the East and we got excellent signal for both cell and tv. Lake Cleveland is approximately 2 miles away and has great fishing opportunities. Mt. Harrison Peak is 3.1 miles away and gives beautiful views into the South and West of Idaho.  There is a fire watch tower there along with an interpretive area to learn about the plants in the area.  There is also a monument dedicated to nine military men that died in a military plane, B-24, that crashed nearby in  February 1945. There are restrooms at the campground, lake and Mt. Harrison. The roads are paved until you turn off to the campground and lake just off the highway.

Falls Campground

This is a smaller campground. It is great, but as it's elevation is much lower than our usual locations, it is hot here in the middle of July.  We stayed in site 3, which is a double site and close to the entrance. If you stay in this site, you will hear the restroom doors slamming shut at all hours of the day and night. Moose were seen in the area and bald eagles were plentiful. There are beautiful falls close by as well. We would love to stay here again in Spring or Fall.

Soapstone Campground in Uintas

Soapstone is a beautiful campground.  It is a very tight road and difficult to get into sites as it is obvious it was not built with 30 ft. trailers in mind.  However, with some work, we did get into out beautiful site. We had an amazing time.

Our only two negativies were the tight road getting into sites and a very noisy Mirror Lake Highway 24/7.  These two reasons will keep us from staying here again.

Currant Creek Reservoir and Campground 2021

Dirt road is washboard hell, but you are rewarded when you arrive to a clean and quiet campground stay. Plenty of trees, flowers and wildlife including hummingbirds, deer, sandhill cranes, moose, beaver, chipmunks, squirrels and fish. Water is cold, but plenty deep for fishing, boating, canoes and paddle boards.  Fishing was steady.  Be prepared to pay to launch your boat and empty your tanks at the dump station.

This campground has reservation and first come first served sites. There is tent and trailer camping available. Loop B has group sites. There was no water available in the campground the last few times we were here. There are no hook ups-electric, water, sewer at this campground.

There are restrooms in each loop of the campground. There is a quiet time enforced from 10 PM to 6 AM. No generators after 10 PM.

Bring cash or check as they do not take credit cards on site.

We will camp here again.

Kents Lake Adventure July 2021

Kents Lake was a nice surprise for us.  However, the lake water level was low and had green algae on it. The canoe did get in the water and it was a nice, calm lake. We kept the dogs away from the water. Fishing was okay, not excellent, but we got a few bites.  Weather was rainy various times through our 5 day stay and downpour is the best description. The road getting to campground was a rough dirt road, but they were grading and working on parts of it so there is hope for a smoother ride next time. The campground was quiet most of the time. We would visit here again.

Overnight Stop

This campground was convenient to come in late and leave early. We called ahead and they were very accommodating. Manager gave us an end site we could pull in, stay hooked up, went to bed, got up early and headed out.
