Fishing, tubing, and shoreline wading give campers several reasons to pull off Highway 65 at Isabel Lake, a free state fish and wildlife area just north of the town of Isabel. The campground sits on the north side of the lake and includes a dock, boat ramp, and small beach, with a second dock accessible on the south shore and a shooting range nearby. Picnic tables, a shelter, fire pit, drinking water, and trash service are on-site. Pets are welcome, and alcohol is permitted. Anglers looking for camping near Isabel Lake will find this a low-cost, functional base. The site is lightly sheltered, so expect open exposure to wind and sun.
