The park sits near Durkee Lake, and several reviewers note the proximity to water as a draw. The terrain is open and flat. One thing to keep in mind: if rain moves through, the ground can go soft, and as one reviewer put it, "if you're in a big rig, just be mindful of when you plan to pull in or out." The access road appears on photos as gravel, so rigs with tight clearance or low ground clearance should factor that in.
The park is quiet most of the time, though locals do use the area and the town is small enough that an unfamiliar vehicle draws attention. Police check-ins are routine, multiple times daily by some accounts. A grocery store is within walking distance. Verizon users have reported full bars on site. The City Park has 12 electrical camp sites with 110V/30Amp and water connections shared between. It is $10 a night on a first come first serve basis. You can pay at the City Office either by drop box or open hours Monday through Friday 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM or there is a payment box on the northwest corner at the park. There is also some electrical hookups at Durkee Lake which is also $10 a night on a first come first serve basis and you can pay at the City Office either by the drop box in front of the office or open hours Monday through Friday 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
